The mother of two girls, Nancy Beach challenges the myth that effective motherhood is about getting it all right. Instead, Nancy provides her own insights and lessons learned in motherhood to demonstrate that mothering is about practicing mindfulness.

First, mothers need to be mindful of how they were raised so as not to pass down obvious shortcomings from their families onto their own children. As illustrated by the drama sketch If These Walls Could Speak, three generations of women learn to navigate the ebb and flow of family relationships. Second, mothers must be mindful of how each of their children is uniquely created. Mindful mothers should accept their children for the treasures that they are, not the people they want them to be.
