Marty struggles with his perception—and some reality—of his boss Dan's power over his subordinates and is frustrated with his own past inability to speak up. Two other co-workers get caught up in Marty's 'actualized' dream of putting Dan in stocks while Marty verbalizes all those things he's always wanted to say about Dan's leadership—like Dan's a bully in the office; he's gifted and dysfunctional at the same time; he uses his hierarchal position against people and doesn't allow for the expression of their dreams and visions. Marty suggests Dan must be average, "everyman," so he can understand the basic duties of a fellow human being. And is it just Dan, or might even Marty's subordinates feel similarly toward him? And can anyone speak truth into these issues?
